About Christian Writers Retreats
About Our Founder:
The ministry of Christian Writers Retreats was founded in 2021 by Kathy Ide. Kathy is a published author, freelance editor/writing coach, and owner of Christian Editor Network. She directed three Christian writers conferences over the course of six years. Kathy also attended several of Mount Hermon’s women’s reflective retreats. With those experiences, she sensed a strong leading from the Lord to organize retreats where Christian writers could focus on having a powerful experience with the Lord while connecting with others within the Christian writing community in a refreshing, inspiring environment.

About Our First Retreat
The first Christian Writers Retreat was held at the Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center (near Santa Cruz, California) in November 2021. It featured Soul-Care presentations, worship music, and one-on-one spiritual direction appointments with Dave and Keri Lippman, a concert and Sunday morning service with Dave Talbott, a hike to the cross at dawn, several tables full of donated books and writer resources, and a three-ring binder filled with Scripture passages, inspirational quotations, hymn lyrics, and poems.
About the Experiences at the First Retreat
At that first retreat, attendees experienced powerful connections with the Lord and fun times with fellow members of the writing community. (Check out some of their testimonies here.) Several expressed a deep desire for more! So two retreats were scheduled for the following year: one in Southern California in June, and a second one at Mount Hermon in November.
About the Team
These retreats could not happen without the gracious contributions of our resource team members. From website creation and maintenance to graphics, social media, marketing, transportation, lodging, registration, live-streaming and recording, photography and video, designing and creating printed material—not to mention a powerful prayer team—it takes a collaboration of wonderful people giving generously of their time and talents to make this possible. We are deeply grateful to each individual who has contributed toward these retreats. May our Lord reward you greatly both in this life and in the eternal one to come!
